What February 2027 costs

Level I registration for February 2027 is USD 1,490, the standard fee. There is no enrollment fee (CFA Institute dropped the USD 350 fee from 29 April 2025), moving your appointment within the window costs USD 250, and fees exclude local taxes. Fees for a missed exam appointment are nonrefundable, non-deferrable, and non-transferable, so register for a window your study plan can hit.

Registration buys one sitting. Practice is separate: free Mock 1 costs nothing; all 8 mocks are $19/month or $99 lifetime.

If February is too soon: May or August 2027

Both later 2027 windows have the same fees. Only August 2027 still offers the USD 1,140 early fee.

Sitting Level I in November 2026? CFA Institute does not allow consecutive windows or windows within six months of each other, so February 2027 is not an option for a November 2026 candidate. Check the rule on the official page before you register again.

Is February realistic for you?

From late October, February 22 is about 17 weeks away. Against the common 300-hour planning benchmark, that is roughly 18 hours a week, which is tight if you are starting from zero and comfortable if you are already part way through the curriculum.

Benchmark before you register: take free Mock 1 (90 questions, 135 minutes, instant score), then build a week-by-week schedule with the 300-hour study plan or the study plan generator.
